A New Phase

I barely post on this blog anymore- so infrequently so that I keep forgetting my password. I think moving to Suburbia and having a baby saps the creativity out of you. That and spending time on Facebook. I would include Twitter except that I still haven't quite figured out the appeal. I'm glad that people are still enjoying past posts, and for those of you care, I will try to do a better job of thinking to write here when something nonsensical comes to mind.

I Had a Dream

So it's been nearly two years since I've written, but I felt the need to share this crazy dream I had. I felt like I was solving some huge puzzle, as often happens to me in dreams, though I ususally don't remember te question or the answer. I dreamt that I had to write a short story for highschool English, and I came up with this really "fresh" version of Rapunzel (I think her name was "Riley.") Anyway, she locked herself up in her room, for all the guys were running after her because of her beautiful long (dark?) hair. The "prince" (i.e. some guy) comes to her balcony- which kind of looks like the one I had off my bedroom growing up, and asks her to let him up. She threatens to cut off her hair so that men will stop chasing her. The prince is very upset about this, and begs her to keep her gorgeous locks. He suggests that the best way to keep the boys away (and to have her to himself) is to demonstrate that she has a brain. Rapunzel/Riley likes this idea, and she lets the prince up the stairs, not her hair. And they live happily ever after.

Follow-Up to my Energy Drink Binge

I've been writing in my blog so sporadically these days, but I thought I should with you the results of my energy drink escapade. For a few weeks, my stomach wasn't quite right. Then one day I had two Kabbalah drinks back-to-back, and I spent the rest of the day and evening with sharp pains shooting through my abdomen. I wasn't 100% for a whole week after. Needless top say, I stoppe drinking energy drinks, and I got a lot better. Hmmmm...

Has anyone else had a similar experience? Let me know.....

Something I Learned This Week

Drinking Red Bull is a pretty expensive habit. I hope I don't waste all my assets on this new addiction. Actually, I like the new Kabbalah stuff even better. Energy drinks rock!

Awwww!!!!

Apparently, someone out there misses me!!! I know it has been a while, and I have no excuses for not having written in so long. So here I am, in a situation where I am considering moving out of my apartment, which is one female roommate short of a brothel, into my own place. Being that this is Manhattan, however, I can barely afford to live in a closet. At least this search has provided some comic relief. In my searches on Craig's List and various real estate sites, I have noticed some interesting expressions used to describe New York City apartments. I can only speculate the true meaning of these terms:

1. "Cozy"= size if a shoebox
2. "Cute"= smaller than a shoebox
3. "Charming"= unique scent that can't be gotten rid of
4. "Character"= previous tenant left a ratty old chair
(Notice all the C's? Doesn't mean anything)
5. "Exposed brick!!!!"= nobody bothered to build a real wall!!!
6. "Decorative fireplace"= light a fire in there, and all tenants will die from carbon monoxide poisoning
7. "$800 1 br on Upper East Side!" = this place is in Harlem

Blog-Worthy Information

I had been planning on writing an entry today, at the request of a friend, about the Jewish holiday Simchas Torah, that occurred this past week- the holiday where Jewish singles from all over the world crowd into the Upper West Side, then into a few synagogues on the Upper West Side, then into a party in one apartment on the Upper West Side. Then I was thinking to write about my reconsidering getting married on a secluded beach, because on the train back from New Jersey today, I heard a girl talking on her cell to a friends about how rude it was of a third friend to expect all of the friends to pay to participate in her destination wedding. But the hot topic of the day, or the week for that matter, was the fact thaton the way back to my apartment, I passed by the candy store on 97th and Broadway to buy my frozen yogurt, but it was mysteriously shut down! The metal shutter was drawn, and the black awning had a huge square cut out where the name and logo once were. It was kind of eerie-looking in the dark. This is very upsetting to me, and I am determined to find out what happened to this regular pit-stop of mine. I am imagining they lost a lot of business due to the Tasti-D-Lite nearby. If anyone has any information, please pass it along!

The Answer to One of Lize's Great Mysteries

Here is the reason I eat so late at night. It's because sleep is so damn tiring!
